Women in Digital Transformation: Highlights from the Annual 18th General Assembly

From June 7-9, 2023, at Heritage Hotel, Pasay City, the organization hosted its annual general assembly with the theme “Women in Digital Transformation.” This event was designed to empower women by providing essential tools and resources for success in the digital world, fostering an inclusive environment for all to benefit from technological advancements, irrespective of gender or background.

The notable attendance of Vice President Hon. Sara Duterte, DILG Secretary Hon. Benjamin Abalos, Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Cynthia Villar, and Ms. Angeline Tham, Founder of Angkas, among other leading professionals from various sectors, emphasized the significance of the event. Representatives from NGOs, government, and the private sector in the technology field collectively contributed to the discourse on leveraging digital transformation for the betterment of society.

The expert speaker delved into practical strategies, providing valuable insights on building a secure financial foundation. Participants gained valuable information on budgeting, saving for the future, and achieving a debt-free life.

PFLCW Chairman & President: Advocating Gender Equality through Entrepreneurship

In a significant gathering, the Business and Professional Women (BPW) Conference unfolded in Bahrain from November 4–9, 2023. Dr. Myrna T. Yao, the esteemed Founding Chairperson of PFLCW, graced the event as a distinguished guest speaker, addressing the audience on the crucial topic of “Women Entrepreneurs as Agents of Gender Equality Through Poverty Eradication and Social Protection.”

Dr. Myrna T. Yao, alongside Dr. Evelyn T. Uy, PFLCW President, and the presence of Filipino-Chinese Federation members, Ms. Rebecca Watta and Mrs. Remedios Ramsay from Business and Professional Women (BPW), marked a truly productive occasion. The delegation actively engaged in networking, establishing connections, and gaining insights from diverse business and professional leaders from around the globe.

 

Youth Uprising in Pulanlupa Elementary School Las Piñas

The Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women (PFLCW) proudly supports the ‘You Can Be Anything’ movement at PulanLupa Elementary School, fostering the empowerment of dreams among young girls. Through a sponsorship collaboration with Barbie x Youth Uprising, PFLCW is dedicated to inspiring these budding talents to break limits and dream big. This initiative seeks to instill in young minds the belief that their potential knows no bounds, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations with passion and determination. PFLCW’s involvement in this empowering movement reflects its commitment to nurturing the next generation of empowered and confident women.
